If you're buying a used paperback, your best bet is to go with former library copies. You may think it counter intuitive, but they're always the best taken care of. No writing on the inside, no highlighting, no tears or tatters, and perfect binding. Would order again from them in a heartbeat. Plus is seems like Christopher Pike is awfully hard to find in good condition for a decent price. Read it as a teen, am now 31 and wanted a trip down memory lane. LOVED this book so much I must've read it at least 5 times back then. Pick them up while they're still around at all!

Starlight Crystal Christopher Pike 9780671550288 Books Reviews

This is one of my favorite books that I read as a child.
I LOVE Christopher Pike. I read this book in my childhood and the story/saga always stuck with me. I found myself looking for it after nearly a decade and it still made me stop and go "Woah"
I always wondered how my imagination and fantasies were originally inspired by and how my thirst for sci-fi first came about. I honestly think it was this book. The storyline/plot can be a bit confusing and hard to get lost in, but its actually quite a high level sci-fi adventure story wrought with many adult themes. Surprising, re-reading it as an adult, how I digested this at 12/13 years old. Love love love it.
One of my favorite books of all time. Pike is a fabulous writer and intellectual, I love his work.
I read this book a good decade ago, and the story has stuck with me since. I've never forgotten it, but until now never really remembered to buy it, either.

Now I've got my own copy again, and after reading through it I can feel how some of the writing is more...immature than I remember, it's still one of those stories that you'll never quite forget. It has an immense feeling of...time and of emotion that I haven't quite felt in a lot of books. If you're into sci-fi and want to read a story that encompasses the entire life of the universe, try this one.
When I was in the 7th & 8th grades I lived too close to my Middle School to be allowed to take the bus home, unless I stayed after school and took the late bus. For most of the winter months I would find myself in the library reading the books on the racks. Christopher Pike, R.L. Stine-- I read them all. They were awful.
It wasn't until after college that one of my friends let me borrow her copy of The Starlight Crystal. Unlike any of his other work, Starlight Crystal is actually a fun and interesting read, all about the twists and turns of time. I had to own my own copy for my collection.
I'm a seasoned Christopher Pike fan, practically raised on his Crazy-Awesome stories.
I don't think I read it when i was young; so i ordered it & read it in a few days--
it was packed full of interesting action, complicated notions, and touching sentiment
(I'm surprised it was written by a male). But as usual, Mr Pike did not disappoint and i just couldn't slow down to savor the details; most of the time i just kept turning interesting page after captivating page to find out how it ends!!
I wasn't disappointed ) Yay! marked some pages to go back over in the future
